What i got in my glossy box January 2013

Hello ♡

Just received my Glossy box through the post. Really cheers me up when i receive these but i admit i do keep trying to cancel my subscription. My makeup desk is starting to get a bit crammed with small sample bottles that i haven't used. I just can't click that cancel button though. I said to myself after the disappointing December box that January was going to be the decider. Although there are some nice products this month I'm still not satisfied that it is worth the £12 coming out of my bank each month.

Anyway on to the box,

The theme is a 'January Detox' for the post festive period, with products aiming to 'stimulate your senses...while rejuvenating your spirit for a replenished new you'.

In the box i received:

Sanctuary Spa Active reverse thermal transformation mask

I love my face masks so this is a good product to receive. I admit i over indulged over Christmas on chocolate and alcohol, leaving my skin worse for wear. Also the temperature has dropped again so my skin is crying out for a treatment.  This mask comes in two steps. Step one is a serum which you wear under 'step 2' which is a clay mask. Excited to try this.

BM Beauty finishing powder

This apparently comes from Pussycat doll Kimberly Wyatt and makeup artist Laura McComiskie. Not too sure about celebrity makeup lines but will give this a go as it is quite a nice pale pink colour.

Bonus product: Glossy eye mask

This is really needed as my children sometimes get scared of the dark and turn the landing lights on. Nice quality too.

Hydo Dynamic moisture for eyes

At £57 for a full size product this should be good. It promises to help with those ageing signs and make you look nice and fresh. Being a mum this is very needed. Not doing too well with sleep at the moment.

Eco Boutique Body lotion.

I love aloe vera products but really do not need any more body lotion. I'm fully stocked from Christmas. However i will give this one a chance.

Monu micro exfolioant

This product cost £14.50 for a full size 100ml. I have actually been after an exfolioant for a while now. I have tried some before such as clearisil but find my skin becomes very dry, even with moisturiser. Will see if this one works and let you know my review soon.

Overall, this is a good box especially after Christmas and new years indulgences. Will probably use all these products over time.

What I got in my glossybox: November 2012

I have to say, I am very impressed with this months box. The previous boxes have been disappointing alot of people lately and so I think Glossy box have started to up their game, especially with the amount of competition they now have with other beauty boxes.

This month's theme is 'Stocking Fillers'. The card states that the box aims to serve as an inspirational gift guide which i think is a really good idea, seeing as I have no idea to buy my girlie's this year.

The first and largest product i grabbed out of my glossy box was a Wei beauty white lotus hydrating face treatment pads. On the card it states that it instantly hydrates and revitalises lifeless skin, leaving you looking dewy and fresh. The sample includes one pad which i am really excited to try out. The original product costs £55 for six pads! Expensive so must be good.

Second product is yet another Dr. Jart BB creme, but I'm not complaining. This one is a water fuse beauty balm which you place under makeup to avoid streaking when sweating. Last month I received a sample of the Dr Jart+ Premium BB cream and I absolutely adore it, I think it really deserves all the hype it's been getting recently. I had also seen some reviews of the Dr Jart+ Water Fuse BB Cream and I loved the sound of it so I'm thrilled to be able to try it in this month's box! From what I've read I think I might like it more than the Premium version, but we shall see! The full 50ml tube is £18 which I think is really reasonable.

Next up, a Dermalogica daily microfoliant. The card reads: A unique rice based powder that gently exfoliates skin, leaving it noticeably smoother and brighter. When I first looked at this product, i was like what is it, a salt pot? On reading the instructions i discovered you shake the contents into wet hands, rub into a paste and massage over your face and it will activate upon contact.  I've never really seen anything similar before, it's a powder that is gentle enough to use on a daily basis. I have already tried this face scrub and I have to say, it feels really nice. My face felt really soft and fresh. Also there's not much of a scent to it which is what i like in a face product. The full size of 75g is £38.50 so it's pretty pricey. Will probably not be buying this if I'm honest as i find cheaper product a lot better.

The fourth product is this newcomer from Alison Claire natural beauty. It is a mango body butter which smells amazing. I have used this on my hands and has made them so soft. My husband recons the smell is a little too strong but i love mangos so it doesn't really bother me. I find it brings a little summer happiness to the cold harsh winter. The bonus of this product is that it isn't tested on animals and is made from 70% organic ingredients which I think is great. Defiantly worth buying a full size 200ml bottle for £15.

The award for best product in this box goes to this gorgeous Nails inc polish. The colour is 'Notting hill gate' which is a bright neon pink. The tiny 4ml bottle is so adorable, it's one of the smallest bottles of nail polish I've ever seen but will be perfect to put in a clutch or small handbag in case your nails require a quick emergency touch up. I've tried nails inc polishes before and have always loved the quality of them. The full size of a 10ml is £11.

Overall, I felt this is great box this month and i am excited to try out all of the products. I have seen other boxes, and have to say I'm really jealous that some girls received Burberry body! Its my one of my favourite perfumes. What did you get in your boxes?

What I got in my glossybox October 2012

This month's Glossy box arrived today. Receiving it from the post man really makes my day. I had sneakily checked out other blogs on what they received before i got mine. Naughty i know. I had seen on twitter that it was going to be a breast cancer box so i was expecting lots of pink or as its nearly Halloween, lots of black. I was happily surprised to find that this months box was D.I.Y beauty. On the back of the card they tell us that the products have been chosen to get us through a gloomy October, by treating us to a cosy night in with a home spa experience.

Whats inside

  • Anatomicals, Don't just clean it woman, scrub it body scrub.  A pink grapefruit body scrub that buffs with a bravura sense of charm and wit. (full size £3.49)

  • Dr. Jart, Premium beauty balm, This Dr. jart +BB cream provides high SPF40 protection with anti- oxidents. A slightly glossy, low coverage cream which helps fight ageing. Aimed at ages 30+. (fulls size product £24, sample size in box)

At the moment i use soap & glory breakfast scrub   so it will be good to see how this compares! I have seen this brand around but its never caught my eye if I'm honest but of course i will give it a go :) It smells lovely, really fruity. It's not as rough as the breakfast scrub and it's quite jelly like.

Okay so I'm going to start with the only downfall to this product...the cost, just a tad pricey at £29.99.  Don't get me wrong, wonderful cream but would like it to be  be a tad cheaper. Gorgeous product though, slightly greasy on my skin upon first application but eventually my skin started feeling soft and smooth. An all round good product and do recommend trying it.

Am always in need of a good spot cream for when I suffer from the occasional one, so hoping the Skinetica Anti-Blemish can be used for targeted areas alongside general acne prone skin. I have not tried this just yet but from other reviews it looks to be a good product to have.

I have been on the hunt for good red lipstick for a long time and I finally found it! It's a opaque satin finish lipstick and it's very long lasting. It's definitely my evening colour - I think I wouldn't wear it during the day, but it's a personal preference.
It applies good, it's not slippery (with strong colour it's better if it's not). I apply it with a brush or straight from tube for touch ups.
The packaging looks nice and different, I really like that. I think it's a really nice lipstick.

I have already been using this for a month now and I'm in LOVE. A little goes a long way. I use 3/4 of a pump on my face, use a bit of concealer where needed and set with Rimmel Stay Matte Powder. Let it set into your skin a minute and you'll see that it blends with your natural shade. After that, some contouring and mascara leaves me with a natural, medium coverage look. I have acne prone skin and have had no problems so far. Fully recommend buying this product.

    Thanks for reading.

What I got in my glossy box August 2012

While doing a spot of gardening at the front of my house, I noticed a little grey and pink box hiding in a bush. It was my glossy box. (we have a rubbish lazy postman). I stopped everything and rushed into my house to see what treats I have received this month. A little bit disappointed glossy box! But still some nice little products. Here is what I got:

Alessandro pro white. This is a
German brand and is for brightening up your
nails. perfect if you don't wear nail polish.
Broadway press on nails. These are a
brown and gold design.
Lipcote.  An excellent British brand. This is
their lipstick sealer.

DHC Deep cleansing oil. A really good
makeup remover from Japan.
Glossy box's own brand lipstick in glossy
pink. Really nice lipstick but not my colour.
Vera Valenti eyeshadow palette. Nice, handy product
with brown eye creme and green powder shadows.
Again not my favourite colours but will be a good present for someone.

Glossy box is £10 + p&p a month. Order from glossybox.co.uk
