My Valentine's wish list: John Greed Blogger competition

A little bit of a soppy post today. I have just recieved an email from John Greed Jewellery telling me about another competition they have started up. It is the same format as the last blogger competition which was to design a Pandora charm bracelet for under £250. This time the competition is create a mood board titled 'My valentine's wish list'. My Valentines bracelet

John Greed have so many lovely jewellery pieces on their website. I'm like a little magpie when it comes to silver and gems. For my wish list, i kept it simple but extremely personal. Initially i was going to go for a necklace with matching earrings but i couldn't resist the bracelet section of the website hence why i put together this gorgeous gift.  

First on my list I would like to talk about is the beautiful red cotton Culture Freedom bracelet costing only £18.  I chose this bracelet because it is coming up to our two year anniversary. Two year anniversaries are traditionally known as your 'Biennial' or 'Cotton' anniversaries. So this bracelet would be perfect and very sentimental. Also the red is very suitable for the valentines theme. 

The 'G' and 'W' charms are from Thomas Sabo and cost £21.95. G standing for 'Gemma' and the 'W' standing for Will, my husbands name. I find the thought of having our initials on my wrists to be such a lovely idea. A little bit cheesy but i love it. 

The star charm symbolises the night we met, under the stars and the heart charm symbolises our love for each other. They are both from the Pandora range costing £35 each. I found them to work well with the theme of 'Valentines day' as well as our upcoming anniversary.

As an extra gift to reach that £250 goal, i have fallen for this gorgeous Swarovski oceanic light siam pendant.  The pendant is quite similar to the blue titanic necklace and defiantly will be a head turner. At a cost of £100 it is a dream necklace. Will look stunning worn during a valentines date.

That's my wish list coming to a total of £231.90.

Previews of Dixi's new collection.

One of my favourite Internet stores is Dixi which sells modern and vintage clothing and jewellery. I am admittedly a huge fan and visit their website almost daily. So, when they asked on twitter who would like previews of their new collection set for release on the 27th January 2013 (at 10 a.m to be exact) , i immediately jumped at the chance.

The items that i am loving the most are defiantly those maxi skirts. I live in them in spring so will probably be grabbing myself one of these. Tiny primark haul

Oops i went to Primark again today. I just can't stay away from that place, but i still need winter clothes! Had a good rummage around but it was extremely busy in there today, strange for a Sunday, so lost the the patience to find anything. I went in there looking for a few day dresses and a leather jacket, no luck (sad face), I did however pick up these lovely items:

Pearl chain collar necklace, £4.00. Such a cute instant way of jazzing up an outfit. Primark had this in either black or white. The white seemed the better option as it will stand out more and will go with anything.

Black feather earrings with gold spikes, £2.00. Loved these earrings the minute i saw them. The spikes are on trend for autumn and are the perfect length. Would only wear these for a evening out as may turn my ears slightly black but still a good statement jewellery piece to have.

White gold studded vest top, £6.00. This was a slightly rushed impulse buy. Saw it by the till and decided to buy it. I liked the studs on it but having now tried it on at home I am not too sure on it. The vest is too baggy for my liking so may have to go back.

Burgundy belted skirt, £8.00. I have been after a skirt for a while now that i can wear with boots and tights. This one, being wool, is perfect for winter, dressed up or down. It is a mini length but not too short and comes with a thin black belt.

Jeggings in blue and grey, £7.00. I have so many pairs of these but hey i live in jeans so two more won't hurt. They are so comfy and go with anything. Also they provide me with a bit of tummy control (must get that gym membership). Jeggings are defiantly my winter essential.

Wearing one or two bracelets is just not sufficed these days! bracelet stacking is a new jewellery styling trend transitioning from the catwalk to the streets. at first glance these arm parties can look chaotic but with careful styling they can pull any look together and add sparkle.
be sure to pile up texture and mix and match different metals, colours and width sizes. whether its chains of silver and gold, woven braids, rhinestones, leather or studs - it’s all about creativity. so raid your jewellery box and pair your old classics with the new!
a few things to keep in mind when channelling this trend are :
- make your arm candy the eye catching piece and keep all other jewellery simple.
- stack them around a watch!! a look i love is men’s over sized watches on women!!
- wear short sleeves!!
- stack to fit your personality, some may prefer sleek metal bands, whilst others rock chunky chains and studs!
- be creative and add colour
