Get the look: Skyfall Bond Girl

With the release of the 23rd instalment of the James Bond film franchise – Skyfall I was inspired to create a 'How to look' showcasing the glamour of Bond Girl style.
The new film brings us two bond girls:
  •  Naomie Harris as Eve Moneypenny.  An MI6 field agent who works closely with Bond.

  • Bérénice Marlohe as Sévérine. Who is James Bond's damsel in distress/ villianess.

Get Their Look!!

Miss Moneypenny is secretary to M, who is Bond's boss and head of the British Secret Service (MI6). Being a Top secret agent she needs to wear clothes that enable her to move quickly in dangerous situations. Her style is casual but sexy at the same time. Look to short light weight jackets, slim fitting trousers and flattering vests to match her look. Below is a short length leather mac from Burberry £3,420, Leather trousers from H&M £25, and military boots by Steve madden at Swell.com.

severine- james bond skyfall

Severine is an associate of the villain Raoul Silva in the 2012 James Bond film Skyfall. Her style is ultra-glamorous with lots of special Skyfall Swarovski jewellery designed by Stephen Webster. Her makeup includes gorgeous exotic smoky eyes and sultry red lips. The above look includes two stunning gowns that match her look. The left one is by Alexander Mcqueen at a heart breaking £12,145 available to buy at Net-a-porter.com. The right dress is a little more affordable at £120 from Mod Cloth. The metal and velvet shoes are Stella McCartney for £620 at Net-a-porter.

At the London premiere of the film, the two ladies ensured they stood out and wowed the crowds, making every girl wishing they looked like them. They really proved they deserve the 'Bond girl' title. I loved both gowns but my favourite has to be Naomie Harris' sheer black Marios Schwab gown with a gorgeous blue sequined body underneath. I love the elegant thin strap sandals she has teamed with it which softens the outfit, the minimal jewellery and fresh faced makeup. Absolutely gorgeous! I cannot think of anyone else who could wear this dress and look this great.

The floor-length catwalk dress previewed at London Fashion Week and retailed for £2550. Marios Schwab did design a similar dress for Debenhams for £150 but unfortunately has now sold out. I have however found these similar dresses for you:

From left: Warehouse at Asos £38, American apparel at Asos

If you prefer Bérénice Marlohe's Red gown by Vivenne Westwood you may like these high street versions:
From left: Jane Norman at House of Fraser pleat bodice dress £48, Coast Breita bandeau dress £225.

What I'm wearing today: the park

Today is Halloween. Yay! After finishing off the last of the pumpkin carvings and decorating our front garden with spooky spiders webs we decided to go for a play in the park. It is raining, typical for Halloween, so I am wearing my favourite red riding hood style coat from Topshop, my new grey jeggings from primark (£7), Chelsea boots £18 from primark and underneath the coat is a plain white vest. Also my brown sactual bag is £8 in primark.

Happy Halloween!!!

Singing in the rain or Hurricane Sandy.

Summers over, autumn is here and so is that nasty hurricane Sandy currently hitting New York. This is defiantly the perfect time to hibernate like a little bear but I'm human so i still need to leave my cosy house no matter the weather.

Living in southern England i am always being rained on. As a kid, I loved the rain and thunder storms. There is nothing like the fresh smell it gives off and splashing in that enormous puddle. Now I'm grown up, i still love the smell but still would rather cosy up with a good movie and a hot chocolate than to go and play in it. As a busy mum without a driving licence i have to do a lot of walking so I think its now about time i invested in some waterproof essentials seeing as my wardrobe is extremely lacking in anything that's going to keep me dry this winter.

This outfit would be perfect for a day when it’s REALLY raining. The jacket is a PU sleeve mac from Rarelondon.com, it’s super waterproof and stylish at the same time. When paired with these fun yellow rain boots from Hunter and a cute umbrella, the overall look is functional and on trend at the same time especially with the colour block.
Singing in the rain

This outfit fits more with light rain or brief showers. Perfect for an autumn walk and really fits in with the heritage trend with a touch of vintage. The blouse is from Mirabella and costs £98, the cute snake skin handbag is marc jacobs £757 and the wellies are from Hunter at £78.

Tiny primark haul

Oops i went to Primark again today. I just can't stay away from that place, but i still need winter clothes! Had a good rummage around but it was extremely busy in there today, strange for a Sunday, so lost the the patience to find anything. I went in there looking for a few day dresses and a leather jacket, no luck (sad face), I did however pick up these lovely items:
Pearl chain collar necklace, £4.00. Such a cute instant way of jazzing up an outfit. Primark had this in either black or white. The white seemed the better option as it will stand out more and will go with anything.

Black feather earrings with gold spikes, £2.00. Loved these earrings the minute i saw them. The spikes are on trend for autumn and are the perfect length. Would only wear these for a evening out as may turn my ears slightly black but still a good statement jewellery piece to have.
White gold studded vest top, £6.00. This was a slightly rushed impulse buy. Saw it by the till and decided to buy it. I liked the studs on it but having now tried it on at home I am not too sure on it. The vest is too baggy for my liking so may have to go back.
Burgundy belted skirt, £8.00. I have been after a skirt for a while now that i can wear with boots and tights. This one, being wool, is perfect for winter, dressed up or down. It is a mini length but not too short and comes with a thin black belt.
Jeggings in blue and grey, £7.00. I have so many pairs of these but hey i live in jeans so two more won't hurt. They are so comfy and go with anything. Also they provide me with a bit of tummy control (must get that gym membership). Jeggings are defiantly my winter essential.

What I am wearing today (ootd). One year anniversary meal.

Today we celebrated our one anniversary. One year already! I wasn't blogging back then so have included a few little pics from our wedding. I wore a gorgeous Mori lee gown which had Chantilly lace, corset top and a black silk sash. We had a lovely day and i cant believe how quickly time has gone. Anyway back to tonight. My lovely husband treated me to an Indian down at our local. Everyone there dresses really casual so i decided to keep my best frock i had planned to wear for another day. The dress i am wearing is a Primark floral tea dress. I love the shape of it and is the perfect length coming just above the knee. Being tall i struggle to find dresses that do not show off the bum cheeks. Primark provided a gold chain belt with this dress but i felt it looked tacky and was too loose so I've swapped it with a black and gold bow belt also from primark. As its freezing outside i have put on my thickest black tights and black ballet pumps. On my wrist is my Jules and James Rose Gold watch from Tx maxx and a bracelet i picked up in Ibiza.

Thanks for reading.
